Soap and Rocket
Episode 5 – On not taking photographs by Sean Lotman
This split second decision– to leave things as they are and move on– is not unusual. For the photographer whose canvas is the street, there really is just a few seconds to compose something before the moment is terribly compromised. And sometimes I miss that moment because I am lost in thought or I am looking at the wrong place or because it is so beautiful I don’t want to ruin everything. Taking a photograph is what I’m supposed to do, but it’s not always something I am capable of doing.
